Not yet dicky not been on my laptop i think i have my winner though. ! ;0>

hmmm. Mabe ill try it. What oil do you use? (not tonight but soon) x
I used to own a fish and chip shop so didn't need to deep fry at home. I closed the shop in September 2010, had fish and chips just after Christmas, haven't had them since and there is no way I am buying a deep fat fryer.
I use a wok if needed Tinks. Also if you do want them crunchy from the oven use Panko breadcrumbs. They are the Japanese breadcrumbs are go reakky crunchy in the oven xx

Ta voddy! Im drooling here lol. X
Tink, if I need to deep fry for a chinese dish I use Groundnut oil 'cos it has a higher smoke point than veg oil. For all other I use supermerket veg oil. But as I say I don't deep fry that often now. I just made some crispy potato wedges with Cajun spice in the oven, for a treat. A little mayo and sod the weight police.
We don't deep fat fry any more because of trying to maintain lost weight, but I must tell you that the very finest chips ever are McCain's Home Fries deep fried NOT oven baked. Mmmm Delish.

W Ron.
Never, I haven't owned a deep fryer for several years.

Its just this craving for these flippin goujons lol

I wouldnt buy a fryer xx
Unfortunately, shop-bought goujons can sometimes be dreadfully disappointing. They may have far too much coating on, and the interior tends to be not plain strips of chicken but reconstituted chicken mashup. We can hope that Asda's are different . . but . .
Asda's different! They will probably be worse......
have an actifry, they are fab tink, they only need a tiny amount of oil, they don't smell, and food is really crispy too!......
I made my dad get rid of ours when we moved into this house. Mainly because he ended up deep frying everything but also because it makes things stink.

I do miss having home made real chips though. Oven chips just don't cut it.
I've heard of that, welsh, never seen one. I got rid of the deep fryer ages ago - really bad for the diet.
