quails ' eggs

I have been given some quails ' eggs, which my husband like soft boiled.

Do I put them in a minimum of cold water and remove as soon as the water boils, or do I put them in boiling water and time 2 minutes ?

both methods are given in 2 separate cookery books....

as I have only got 6, I'd rather not experiment.....
