right, I have a turkey crown and a whopping turkey leg joint, each weighing about 2.1kgs.

can anyone please tell me how long the two of them should take to cook together? I have a fan assisted oven.

I considered putting the crown in the slow cooker (finishing in the oven), but I'm not getting up at stupid o'clock to do that.

any top tips welcome. thank you :o)

i have no idea... what i wanna know is.... are they both going in the same roasting pan and if so how flipping big is it?
2½ to 3 hours.
Why don't you cook one of them now & one tomorrow?

pdust, I'm really hoping so.. I only have a slimline (500ml) cooker :o/

daffy thanks, are you sure? I was expecting longer, for the two of them together?
they wont take all that long. i've got a 12lb turkey and plan to cook it for 4 hours

sherrard, I don't like re-heated meat.. it worries me!
put the leg in the slow cooker on low well covered with water and vegatables (carrots parsnips and potatoes) then finish to crispen the skin up in the oven with the crown tomorrow, this then means you have a good stock for soups etc. if leg bone is to long at the no meat end slice through skin and tendons make an slice into the bone then use a screwdriver and hammer to break the bone.
With a fan oven it should be quicker than a conventional for which I would advice 3½ hrs. I always go by 20 minutes per pound plus 20 minutes over. Your 2x2.1 kg is just over 9lbs.
If both pieces are being cooked in the same pan it shouldn't make a difference that they are separate.

firewatch, thanks.. if I use the slow cooker it would probably be for the crown as it tends to be drier.

daffy, thanks.. will go and see if they both fit in one baking tray now. fingers crossed!

lol.. shut up!

they fit, they fit.. it's like a Cinderella moment!!
My turkey crown is exactly the same size, 2.1 kg, it advised on the wrapping, 2 hours on 180C. Check by piercing it, and see if the juices run clear. I loosely cover with oiled foil, and take off half way to let the skin brown.
