morning all. It's all calm here this morning on the Sussex coast. Yesterday it was blowing a hooley up the English Channel but it's all quiet here now. Some people throughout the country especially in Scotland and the north of England had it a million times worse and I hope they're all ok this morning.

Morning Jan. It was a bit fresh here yesterday too. I felt sorry for the people up north. It must have been worrying.

It was interesting yesterday, no schools open, colleges closed at 10.30, jobcentres shut, council staff who had to travel home let away early, as were some other businesses, motorbikes blown over, a bus blown over.

Fortunately not Boaty, I put that down to some sensible moves, not necessarily on any political advice. It really was quite hairy at times.
Not only was the wind interesting, the hailstones were quite large and for added measure one long flash of lightning and a long rumble of thunder.

Morning Moony, Boaty, Sweetpea, ttfn, janbee & tambo. Wind died down here too - couldn't have a fire at home as the wind wwas blowing the smoke back down the chimney and the smoke alarms kept going off - at least I know they work!! Sons car broke down during the night and he had to be towed home by the RAC - immobiliser problem according to the garage mechanic who towed him home. One bloody problem after another at the moment. Weekend plans thrown into confusion now as he works weird and wonderful shifts being a chef.
