Loved them as a child and when I saw them in Tesco's, I couldn't believe my luck! Bought some but was very disappointed as it didn't seem the same as when I was little. It was very oily (more so than I remembered).

When I was little, it used to be a real treat to go to my uncle's house as he would cook fried spam with rice! Imagine thinking that was a treat!! Maybe my tastes have improved with age!

While serving in HM Forces, spam fritters were a common item on the menu. They were met with groans of dismay every time.

We used to have them when we were little but the thought of eating them now makes me shudder.

they were had with chips, tom ketchup and bread and butter, they looked disgusting and i refused all attempts to make me try the things

I blame Google. It tailors ads to you on every page of Gmail. Unfortunately the only thing in my spam folder it can link to is recipes for spam fritters, so that's what I get every time I look there.

You can get corned beef that isn't from a tin ?!?
I treat myself to a tin of the 'lean' variety on occassion. Corned beef is a favourite food, life would be less interesting without it.
