Also I've almost p*ssed the nest about 50x's during the night. I continually go to the toilet and due to all the spots my face is in PAIN. I have them all on my chin, cheeks and fore head! I read somewhere the other day that sometimes drinking that much water isn't very good for you as originally thought. Depends on what water, tap or bottled too I should imagine because both have different properties so it may not suit you. I know too much bottled water isn't good for me so I guess similar could be said for others too.

I drink 2 litres of the bottled (but flavoured water). My skin is awful. Worst it has ever been. So painful, I have 14 spots (and counting hahaha) but point being I don't get too many spots at one time. Not 14 anyways! Face is sore to cleanse at night/morning. x
Only thing I can suggest is to give it up for a week or two to see if your skin improves then you can be more sure of the water having that affect. Feel sorry for you as it must be awful to go through what you are, hope it clears up soon, if not see your pharmacist and see what advice he/she can give.
they've changed their mind. The eight glasses appears to have been just made up, so feel free to give it up. I'd be surprised if water caused spots, though. You might have to seek elsewhere for the cause of that.
How long have you been drinking this amount of water? It could be related to only just starting drinking the amount and it's flushing the cr@p out? So things get worse before they get better? Just an idea x

I started it 4 days ago and my skin is horrible. Totally broke out. I'm not sure if drinking 8 glasses is a myth or not. Mixed reviews online. x
It's a load of tosh you need to drink 8 glasses of water.
It is true your body needs fluid but it gets this from food (even meat), tea, coffee, soft drinks even alcohol.

I never drink plain water.....mind you dont drown yourself !
There are NO benefits in drinking 8 glasses of fluid per day....you just pass more water

You haven't described your skin lesions adequately, but it sounds like acne vulgaris associated with the menopause.

See your GP for treatment.
May be the water has nothing to do with the spots. I mean you have to observe your daily tasks. were you over exposed to the sun? are you allergic to some kinds of food? changes in summer? etc....
I don't know if this link will work or not but it does discuss the matter of drinking too much water.

A recent BMJ opinion piece on drinking of water - in summary, the "8 glasses of water a day" narrative is a myth - We do get a large quantity of our daily water requirements from our food.
Bottled water companies however would like to promote this myth, cos it helps sales ;)
A recent informed BMJ article - makes for interesting reading

I drink about two litres a day, which personally I don't think is a lot =s Roughly half on it's own and the other with diluting juice. When I was younger though I did go through a phase of drinking too much water. My mum had to take me to the doctors because I would get really sore heads and become dizzy.

I think it's down to knowing whats right for you. I generally don't have to go for a wee that often even though I drink a lot.. Just depends on the individual :)

As for the spots, I agree with Roxie about flushing toxins and such out. I think you should just wait it out for another week or so and see if there's an improvement :) x
The 8 glass.es of water a day comes from a paper published in the 1940's which estimated that humans need 1 ml per calorie consumed, however the next sentence is overlooked where the author suggests that we get most of our water from the food we eat. All fluids count, icluding those with caffeine, as there is a suggestion that the body gets used to caffiene and its diuretic properties diminish
