Does anyone know any way of making boring grilled chicken interesting by adding something. Not anything too complicated please. Thanks

Try coating with piri piri before grilling.
Add 1/4 cup Worcestershire to 4 tablespoons Soy sauce.  Heat this in a pan with 1/2 cup orange marmalade until it tends to thicken slightly.  Use this over the chicken as you grill it...
use a marinade or a mix of spices to coat the chicken, sorry got no recipes but you get nice marinades in jars/bottles from marks and spencer =)

Stab it several times with a knife, then insert slivers of garlic.

Or wrap it in streaky bacon (if it's a chicken breast) before you grill it.

Try adding BBQ sauce and cheese! Yum!

Marinate with crushed garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil before grilling. Add some onion rings as well if you like. Use sufficient oil so the onions wont get burnt.

Lea & Perrins make a 5minute marinade with lime,it is gorgeous! Just paint it on and grill! I have it with a jacket potato and a salad.
The simplest chicken recipe ever: Dollop of Pataks Lime Pickle, small tub of (preferably full-fat Greek) yoghurt. Marinate. Grill. Enjoy.
Squeeze the juice of an orange over as it's grilling. Very simple but effective.
The little jars of Schwarzer spices are very good, you can buy them anywhere. Just sprinkle a light coating on to the chicken and put under the grill. The 'Chargrilled chicken' is fab, but 'Fajita' and 'Cajun' are nice.

Salt and raw sugar. To really get the blood pumping add finely chopped chilli!

Add a burglar alarm. Really livens up boring chicken meals

I was a chef at Ma Potters in manchester trafford center and what we did is either Basil chicken which is:-

  • Olive oil
  • Loads of Basil
  • Lemon Juice
  • Marrinade everything together for a few hours before cooking, or there is simple Cajun chicken which is:

Cajun seasoning which you can buy at nearly everywhere. Same thing just marinade an away u go!

when ur chicken is cooked  wrap a rasher of bacon round it coat with BBQ sauce sprinkle with cheese and melt in the oven ..........mmmmagic.

when the chicken breast isn't yet quite finished, take it out and slice it across the flat plane, into a butterfly shape. add a little soy sauce, cheese, etc and either close or leave open and continue to cook.

alternatively, use dark angel's excellent marinade idea, and again, near the end of cooking, butterfly the chicken breast and finish cooking it spread flat - the thinness of the breast and the rough texture you get from slicing it through, really turns it into a different piece of food. use a serrated knife, and experiment with different textures.
