Seafront Warnings

Despite all the warnings about seafronts, in connection with this storm we have footage on BBC of a small crowd, including one little-un, shrieking with delight at the crashing waves. Not to mention all the journalists doing their piece to camera with their backs turned to the source of danger.

There is an obvious question to ask but I've searched for older threads and I can only assume that asking the question, or variants on it, gets the thread deleted.

Note: the question will certainly be deemed to be in poor taste in the event of _______s.

So, the challenge here is not to guess the question but to beat around the bush while discussing the subject without anyone actually blurting out the question and getting the thread zapped.

deaths?
Drownings?
People who get close to the action when they are wave-watching don't realise that it isn't just water that comes over the sea wall. Stones are thrown over as well. People who sit in their parked cars in such circumstances run the risk of getting a broken windscreen, and those who dodge the waves might get a bonk on the head from a largish pebble.
ermm.........Crabs!

@weecalf,

You can tell the Venetians all about the quaint British sport of wading around in stinky floodwater, at this time of year. They'd love that. ;-)

I have indeed, weecalf, it runs until May!
Well I guess Venice will be home from home, all those flooded streets full of putrid brown water.....

Remember the Venetian scene in Quantum of Solace - who has ever seen water that turquoise-blue in the city?
disasters
I won't mention the dangers this also puts the RNLI, Coastguards etc., in, then.

Give us a clue, What Guy?
Fawkes.

It bugs me too, there was a woman on the TV at lunchtime lugging her unfortunate dogs down to the prom too. They didn't have any choice in the matter.
Two people at least have already died, by going out to look at the waves...so sad but it par for the course. I suppose nobody thinks it is going to happen to them.
People near Hastings are standing on the beach, being excited about a huge chunk of cliff falling into the sea - how stupid can you get?
