Bells Palsy should be painful.

Are you sure that you are not referring to Ramsey-Hunt Syndrome which is something quite different and is bloody painful?

Get back to us eh?
Question Author
It has been diagnosed as Bells Palsy by 2 different Dr's.
Well......no rash?........and painful?

OK then I have little more to add except to say that i assume that you are on large doses of steroids.
I haven't had it myself but I do know two people that suffered from it in the past. one recovered after around two weeks the other was a couple of months. Only one of them suffred a lot of pain, and found that warm heat helped. She also was prescribed painkillers by the GP when she explained how much pain she was in.

Thanks for replies. No rash and ear canal clear.Finished steroids and anti cold sore meds too.
friends daughter has it.....it comes and goes.... last time was about a year ago but she didn't mention pain only that it was too embarrassing to go out looking so odd
"anti cold sore meds".....can you give me more information concerning them?
Question Author
anticylovir tablets.High dose. Was given for a week just to cover me if there was any of the cold sore lying low.
OK....then it was Bell's Palsy and pain can sometimes accompany it.....sorry to labour the point, but it is important.

For the pain..take ibuprofen 600mgms which should give you relief.......it can be persistent and if it continues, you may need stronger pain killers.
