I can't work out why or how I've earned a Long Service Badge for 5+ years' membership when I haven't quite done 4 years yet?

Anyone else got a badge they didn't really feel entitled to?

Yes, Baldric has pointed out out on another thread that the badges for Long Service (5 years) and for Starting a Thread with 1000 posts have been incorrectly allocated. I have been given the latter and I'm sure I shouldn't have it. I wouldn't be surprised if these two badges have been allocated to all or most users in error

I think there's been a bit of a glitch NoM. I've got TEN badges ............ including one for 1000+ best answers when I actually have 133 ;o)

Everybody also seems to have the "started a thread with more than 1000 answer" badge :)

Oh, I've got a "1000+ Best answer, any topic" badge too, and I've only got 539 best answers :)

Yes, I have a LSB badge for 5 years instead of 3.

I don't think they are any trouble, even if they don't work properly it's not important enough to be called "trouble"

I have a Girl Guides badge, and also a Prefects badge and milk monitor badge but no-one has given me credit for that on here. And it seems that being the longest serving born again virgin counts for nothing either. I still have the 2 I was awarded in the beginning. I think I've earned mine. Craft what exactly have you done to get all those badges? Fibber.

If I could be bothered to take any of this seriously or if I was one of the AB "techies" [sic], I'd doubtless find it really embarrassing!

I can just about see the rationale for some sort of recognition for a significant number of best answers in any given topic, but simply being awarded a badge for having made a certain number of posts in any given topic is just ludicrous! All you have to do to earn one is keep posting "I agree" on different threads until you hit the magic number! What on earth is the value in that...?

As for the long service ones, I suppose you could argue that it's a bit of an achievement to have lasted five years without being banned...
