Charlie Blackout (5.0%) from Toll End Brewery.
Very dark Beer with a Cinder Toffee and Smoke flavour.
also
Redemption (5.0%) from Toll End Brewery.
Amber colour with a sweet, smooth almost malty taste.
Rowan and I found both these Beers, excellent.
Toll End Brewery are a relatively new Micro-Brewery based at Tipton,West Midlands.
Hopefully we will come across these Beers again in the near future !

Next week's 'Beer of the Week' might be interesting being as the Birmingham Beer Festival has around 220 Cask Ales on offer.
There are also all the Foreign Beers along with Ciders etc.
It's a hard life all this Beer sampling :-))
I tried a sip of Leffe last Saturday. It's quite nice I think.
Question Author
Leffe is a nice drink NoMercy but they brew about 6 different ones.
Have seen 3 of them in Birmingham Pubs but the only one listed for the Beer Festival so far is Leffe Radieuse @ 8.2%
The best Pub in Brum for Continental Beer is the 'Post Office Vaults', New Street.
They have over 200 in stock and you order from their Catalogue at the Bar.
Charlie Blackout sounds interesting
For those of you down here in Devon or Cornwall or visiting, or just good old cider lovers, there is this fest on this weekend to:

Red, the post office vaults, where is that in New Street. It isn't where the Tavern in the Town used to be is it ?.
Question Author
That will be worth visiting DTC !
There are some really nice Ciders to be had and what better place than Cornwall
Question Author
Hi tonyav !
Post Office Vaults is at the top end of New Street on the same side as Morrisons local.
It's a basement Bar which specialises in Cask Ales ( 8 Hand Pumps)
Afternoon Redman - is this your new hobby now - I can remember when you were an innocent lad, is that Rowan leading you up the garden path.........hahaha
Is that the same side as the Odeon , Red ?
Question Author
Hi TOWIE !
Hope you are OK ?
I have been led astray and my innocence has gone for good !!
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy :-)) haha
I am glad you are happy - you deserve it. xx
Don`t all laugh at me as I like `girly` beers but I discovered Budweiser Platinum this week. Very nice (and 6% so not that girly)!
Question Author
Right at the top end near the Plateau and Fountain, tonyav.
Left hand side as you walk up New Street
Righto, Red. Thanks.
Question Author
237SJ....enjoy your Budweiser, nothing wrong with that....there's a Beer to suit most tastes out there
Question Author
God said 'Let there be light'
and there was light !
Budweiser Light ! :-))
And God said "let there be a beer in a fab girly blue bottle" and behold! there was Budweiswer Platinum.
And God said there must be balance
and for all the good beers that there be hadst
let the Yanks drink the pisswater called Pabst.
I'd love to get a handle on beer.

The pumps look nice, with their little badges, but it just bloats you out, and tastes like a bowl of Shreddies.
