I have been seeing this man on and off for a while. He can be really lovely. But if things do not go his way, he gets very verbally agressive. Dumps me, then sends me nasty verbally abusive texts. Pointing out all my insecurites. A few days later, he is charming again. I am starting to worry if its me who is in the wrong. As he says, its the way I behave? which makes him act this way. I dont think I act badly at all. Some of the things he says to me via text are vile. He is 46 and I am 48. I have taken him back so many times. Do I stay away from him now? before he ruins my self esteem completely?

Why on earth do you take him back?

It sounds like he has got a screw loose.

Walk away.
Perhaps he takes drugs.
''I am starting to worry if its me who is in the wrong''

Which is exactly what he wants you to think. Mind games... you don't need or deserve them. Get rid.

I guess I take him back because, he says sorry, then acts charming. Everything is fine. He is charming. Then usually about 2 weeks later, he kicks off again. He sends me texts of sexual things him and his ex used to get up to. Disgusting stuff really. But when he is lovely, is he lovely. Am doubting myself now

Please end it now, he will not change these are the habits of a lifetime. You deserve a man who will treasure you.

thank you very much for your thoughts and advice. Much appreciated x
Well there may be people like that TT, but it is no life if they do, believe in yourself and you will have the confidence to find the right partner. (Mind you I have no desire to do so now, you cannot improve on perfection)
Question Author
Tony, when I first met him, he was lovely. I wouldnt consider myself lonely or desperate. Kind, maybe, and too forgiving, yes.
Can you honestly see a future with this man? Anyone who can turn hot and cold like this cannot hold you in esteem so it is time do yourself a favour and walk away. You cannot enjoy life on such a roller coaster and there is still time to find someone who will make you happy.
Question Author
ttfn, no I dont see a future with him, or at least a happy one. I need a good slap. Thank you for your advice x
Question Author
oh and ttfn, at 48, I think time is running out to meet the man for me
Never say never - I wish I was 48 again :o) One thing is for sure - you will never know if you don't make the right move now - good luck x
Question Author
ttfn, thank you :-) I think I sort of knew the answer, before I posted the Question, if you know what I mean. Just wanted to other people to agree, and boost me along a bit. I just need some support really. Thanks again, much appreciated x
Well I think all of us here agree and you have your support a-plenty. Now try and get some sleep and wake up to a new start tomorrow - sweet dreams and ttfn ♥

bless your heart..... thank you x
Pleasure ;o)
primrosea, we are always here to listen and as you say, you know in your heart this man is not good for you, he makes you doubt yourself. Take a break from looking for love and it may well come and find you.

Sleep well my love

mamya ♥
As has been said -- get rid.
This man will destroy you and you will have a miserable existence together. He will pull you down to the depths of despair , until you have no life of your own .

It is never too late to start again, there are many people out there who are worthy of your affection and trust. Do not waste yourself on this man who has serious problems, which could escalate to a higher level .
You deserve so much more , so go and get it !!!!
Sincere Regards.
