Well my little darling started nursery school for the first time today, thankfully she went in fine and had a lovely time it was me who was wiping away tears at the school gate! Have any of you got 3 year olds starting school as well?

It doesnt stop there! My 6 year old has started year two this week and Im still wondering where the time has gone and thinking my little girl is too young to be in this year! lol Wonder how shes going to react when Im waving her off at the gates when she starts college?
my little girl started school this week, shes just over four and a half. Ive felt physically sick every day so far worrying about her and to make matters worse when i went to collect her today they said she'd been crying at lunchtime because she was missing me! I dont feel as if ive seen her this week, by the time we're home its time to cook tea, then bath and bed for her then school in the morning,.........

Roll on the weekend! lol

lou I can imagine what you are going through! By the time I have walked home from nursery I only have an hour and half before its time to go back and that seems to last forever!
lou, I am a midday meal supervisor (as we are now called) and I actually have the reception classes at the school where I work. Unfortunately, new children crying at lunchtimes is common at this stage simply because they are not used to being in that kind of environment for that long. Even children who have been used to nursery/ playschool find after a couple of hours it strange they havent gone home yet. But trust me, this usually only lasts for the first week and they adapt really quickly and soon they dont give the time theyre at school a second thought. Soon your little girl will be coming out all smiles ready to tell you about all the fun shes had!
I've seen the mums come along to watch as their kids enrol into sixth form.

I thought that most kids after a certain age hated their parents waving them off to school !
aww thank you Psychick for your kind words of reassurance xxx

She has a little bunny that she takes everywhere with her, lol and today the teacher said its ok if she keeps it in school. Im hoping she gets on better today.

Hope all the other little ones (and bigger ones) that have started school this week are getting on alright
I remember when I used to walk to school I always walked past a girl whose mum used to stand outside the house waving until the girl got to the end of the road and turned the corner, right up until this girl left 6th form! I used to walk past thinking, 'what a geek' but now imagine I'll be following a few steps behind waving all the way if it was my child!

My boyfriends son has just started reception, I was gald to read your post Psychick as it's the lunchtimes I worry most about too!
Aw I wish my baby was just starting school lol
He goes off to 'big' school next year! :-(
