Is it possible to access a dead persons medical records

It depends when they died and why you want access. Medical records are usually closed for 100 years unless there is a good reason and even then, you need the permission of the relevant Health Authority.
yes you can. My friend applied to the local health authority for her deceased mothers records and she got a copy of them no problem at all.

It probably depends on the Authority then, I applied for my great grandfathers (he died in 1935) and I had to get permission from the Health Authority. They did allow me access though and they made very interesting reading!
Hi, Yes you can get access to a deceased persons records, although im not sure you would get these unless you are related or have obtained permission/consent from the related source. I was able to get access to my mothers files once passed away and was able to arrange an appointment with her consultant to discuss her care and treatment after she died
