I saw a bird just lying on the beach, and it wasn't moving. No matter how close I get.

Don't worry, it probably just had a funny tern

If I said that it was wrong what would you do?

You need to act at the time, accept your own decision and then get on with your life.  Worrying about it after the event will not help you or the bird.

No, it wasn't wrong.

@douglas.....fantastic answer 😉

Better not to touch in case it had bird 'flu.

I shouldn't laugh but in the face of Douglas' answer, it was very hard not to.

Nothing you can do about it now, Cindy.  If you think it was wrong, change your approach for the next time.

I can't co.peye with douglas but....Was it an Ill Eagle...that would be unlawful

Bird flu is a risk better to leave it, less harmful mark my words.

Was it breathing? You should have checked if it was still Puffin.

Not a laughing matter. You could have asked someone to go and take a look at it instead of just leaving it

Millions of birds die every day; many die so that humans can eat them.

What could you do with a motionless bird? Breast-feed it? Regurgitate fish into its mouth?

Best to leave it to nature.

And that's not to the life guard.

RSPCA not RSPB.

"You can report sick or injured wild birds to the:

RSPCA on 0300 1234 999

They may be able to help. This may include euthanasia and disposing of the bird if appropriate."
