A man's man is someone who prefers the company of men although not in a sexual way.

They like to talk about things they think women wouldn't be interested in.

It means that he's not keen on associating too much with females. He probably can't handle a female's conversation.

Abbey/  I thought you would be pleased he had stopped offering lifts, lunch, etc.  At least according to your previous posts.

My interpretation of a "man's man" is a guy who prefers to go out with the lads, down to the pub, playing/watching sports, etc. though he may till enjoy woman's company.  Yes, definitely one of the lads!

I am glad especially after that comment from the lady who known him for 20 years it made me think well I don't want to be like him when I'm in my 60s

Abbey, how can you be, you're not a man.

She doesn't want to be single and childless

abbey - you're a headcase cos I think you have been around the block

JJ, I hope your definition of that phrase is very different to mine

Question Author

Yeah i mean when I'm his age I don't want to be on my own so I stick to going out with my friends and waiting for the right guy.

abbey, now he has stopped offering lunches and lifts you needn't give him another thought.  That's one problem sorted.

Did you get your wages sorted?

Question Author

Yeah coz I started 4th August last month and got paid last Friday only paid up until Friday before

So next pay day you'll get a full month

Question Author

Yes

So that's good - you are finding an even keel.  Stick with it dear.

There are benefits and snags both with being single and with being in a partnership. Nothing wrong with being at ease with your own company. But if it's not for you, then it's not for you.

I couldn't think of anything worse than going down the pub with a load of other blokes, I never have, even when I was a young lad. Give me female or mixed company any day.

If it is said with a nudge and a wink it means he is a closet homosexual

Question Author

He hasn't asked me to go anywhere with him at all recently think he might sense it?

He may well be reading what you write about him on here.
