I thought I would cook Indian tonight, rather than order it. So ... I'm cooking chicken and paneer sagwalla, poppadoms and peshari-style rice. Chilean Merlot to accompany.

How about you?

I've never done a meat paella. I did seafood paella last Sunday for Father's Day. We were all excited about the house we'd just viewed but alas we were outbid it seems. :(
I hadn't thought tbh, Paella sounds good though now you've said it x

I have never had paella.

I don't know what we're having yet.
It's Saturday, so pizza.

I do love calamari ... yummers!

Paella is worth cooking and you do like your fruits of the sea, Ummmm.

We had that last night, L-i-K. It got too late to start cooking.

NoM, that sounds good, I luv a good Indian.
Frozen - Tesco Thin Mediterranean Veg, strewn with pepperoni...

Me too, Baldric. Perfect with a gin or two! However I have run out of gin and I'm not buying any more until pay day.

L-i-K, we rarely venture out of our comfort zone when it comes to Pizza. Ergo, invariably, it's a Chicago town cheese and tomato. He'd eat anything but I'm not a huge fan of pizza so I tend always to stick with the one I know I like.

Thanks for the invite, NM. But I think we may be eating out later.
I know in Spain they use rabbit and other stuff. That's what has always put me off.

Same as Moussaka....I had it in Greece and it was full of grease. Put me off ever trying it again. (this was years back)
Ooooh I love Moussaka too although you're right Ummm done badly it is an oil slick :/
A proper paella is great. But my woman's not keen on it :-(
Ah well, she puts up with my good taste, I should endure no paella.

Shucks, OG. I'll just have to have your wine quota too. It's a hard life!

Rabbit (conejo) in a paella is very much a Valencian tradition, but has spread to other regions. It's horrible, I agree. That's why I have never eaten made nor ordered a meat paella.
I made a rabbit stew once. Even the cat wouldn't eat it.
