I know how you must be feeling, Jeza and send you hugs! My son died three days before his 21st birthday of brain cancer and like you I desperately try not to be sad when his birthday comes around. But to be honest, I often go to pieces missing him still. He died on Feb 18th of 1990 and I still miss him dreadfully every day! So I send healing thoughts to you and a happy birthday to your son. xxx

I empathise with you too Jeza. Our son died suddenly 3 days before his 5th birthday in 1979.

Not a day has passed that we haven't missed him, and his picture on our sideboard smiles at us every day.

Jeza, 5, 21 or 38, it is still your child, and I don't believe the grief we suffer is any different.

No one deserves to be pre deceased by their children, and when I look at Alex's picture tomorrow I shall remember your son, and Cara's too.
