Daughter (6 years old) is having a party/disc on on the weekend. The dj does the games but I have to provide the prizes. So party bags, prize in every layer, prize for every child or random prizes with the decent one in the middle?

somehow you need to ensure every child goes home with something so a few second prizes and 'wooden spoon mini gifts help keep things from erupting into sulks and tantrums... small prize in every layer of pass the parcel with a better prize in the middle, some could be as simple as a mini pack of haribos... or have gold 'tickets' so they can then choose a prize from a prize table... with things like sweets, packets of crayons plastic jewellery etc
You have to make sure every child has a prize to send them all home happy. Apart from that I don't think it matters. Oh - and they have to be approximatley the same value (in the children's eyes not yours).
My sisters always put a sweety under each layer so that every kid gets something then the proper prize in the middle.
Oops, spelled approximately wrong, sorry! That's a good idea rowan - a prize table. Then they all get what they want and not what you choose to give them.
when i was a kid, we all went home with a party bag and that was enough. Why are we all expected now to ensure every child wins a prize too? and yes, i did follow like a lamb and put penny sweets in each layer of the pass the parcel. But next time i wont.
friend did it...worked really well young children have a strange idea about values.... pink glittery pencils went down best and she got them in a pack of 20 from a pound shop

I usually put something in every layer but wondered if this would hack the DJ off seeing as he is doing the games (and they all get a party bag too - with plenty of sweets and at least one noisy thing).
it takes a long time when each child stops to get sweets on every layer, tries to eat them, play with toy etc.
if getting party bags then leave out the sweets in the PTP.
