Minus 31 degrees with the wind-chill. It's a good thing that the caring people on radio and tv are warning me to dress warmly, and to avoid prolonged skin exposure to the wind: I wouldn't have thought of that! Anyway, it won't keep me from traipsing through the snow to get to the warmth of the bar:)

Your Whitby is much more picturesque than ours. As for the snow interfering with everyday life, we cope better because we're used to it and have the machinery on hand to deal with it quickly and efficiently.
I suppose you do, we're going to get hammered again next winter and I bet we still have the whole country shut down again lol, just because our duration isn't that long I think the powers that be would rather not dip their hands into their pockets as they sit monacled in front of their roaring log fires in their mansions whilst the rest of us have to struggle to battle through the snow in order to get to our low paid jobs, lol.
you be carefull out there in the fields stewey.
Question Author
I guess, Liza, that if you rarely get huge amounts of snow it's not really worth investing millions of pounds in snow-clearing equipment and supplies.
