You don't need to do anything. Your marriage will be recognised here.
I think just ensure you have all the ID that you may need including divorce papers if you were previously married. I think it will depend on which state as to how much notice you need to give.

I am happy with what is required on the U.S side. I just wasnt sure if we have to notify the registry office or town hall before we leave.
I was married in Las Vegas. You don't need to do anything here. Nothing at all. Just go off and get married. Good luck.

We are marrying in Vegas too!
Where did you marry and how was the experience?
You go to the Courthouse, fill in a form, hand it to the lady behind the counter, she hands you a license - then you go off and choose one of the hundreds of 'chapels', speak to the people there and organise your wedding. So simple. I wouldn't do it any other way. :o)

We have the venue pre booked, the Chapel at The Luxor.
Seems pretty easy, they just ask for the license 24hours before the wedding.
Relatively little fuss and we can just have a top holiday!
You're sorted then! Just need to get your license - simple. We drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and did it independently with no pre-booking at all. I hope you have a lovely time - I'm sure you will. (Do take a flight over the Grand Canyon).

When's the wedding?
Question Author
May 4th next year.
We are there for 7 nights, but have hired a car and booked a night in Santa Monica, so will embark on a road trip to the coast. We plan to do Grand Canyon and a helicopter ride over Vegas. Neither of us are huge gamblers, but will have a quick dabble. We are going to book a show or two, perhaps when we get there and eat and drink well!!
Wonderful! We're not gamblers either. I think we lost 6 dollars on slot machines - between 4 of us. :o)
