What is the period of time your name is blacklisted? How long before this is cleared & is it kept on file indefintely? Dekon

Depends on what you mean by black list. 

If you are talking about CCJ's then you will find it stays on file for 6 years and then removed.

If you are talking bankruptcy then this is more complicated and can take up to 10years???  I think. 

Try getting hold of your credit report and seeing what is being recorded.

 

Agreed - there is no such thing as being blacklisted - defaults and ccjs are kept on file for 6 years bankrupcies the same (after expiry - usually 3 years, though after 2003 and the enterprise act it can be as little as 1 year)

Useful telephone numbers - experian 0870 241 6212, equifax - 0870 010 0583. Report will cost �2 plus processing fee.

Agree again! There is no such thing as credit blacklisting. Any prospective lender will make a decision based on the information held on your credit report and all lenders will use different criteria to come to that decision. Dave.
