woolworths.... what a way to exploit my stupidity at 16...

bar stewerds

Woolworths back in 1963 when I was only 16. They still had counters in those days and they put me on the Loo Roll Counter.

Closely followed by M&S in 1964 (still a student) when I got put on the Men's underwear counter! You had to appear busy at all times, unfolding and refolding all the various vests and pants. Also, it was quite daunting being asked by blokes what size underwear they should buy.

As West Sussex County Council doesn't count as a company, I'll say Ladbrokes.
Mine was pc world too, what a*********S!

Sitting at a conveyor belt packing make-up in a factory for M&S in my summer holidays when i was 16. The monotomy was so bad. Thank god for university and graduate jobs.

I had a trial period with Mcdonalds in the mid 80s, with a view to joining their graduate recruitment programme. I had to spend a few hours with the person who cleaned the tables. She had one cloth, and used it to wipe out the urinals in the men's toilets. Then she went back and used it on the tables. I asked is this was ok - she said she wasn't supposed to do it but always did. I left the same day.
B&Q......got run over by a forklift truck (went fully over my foot) and they still expected me to come into work.
OMG Kags!!! xx

which PC World Kipchick?
I worked at Fine Fare when I was at school and it was awful. This is in the 1960's.I eventually got the sack as we used to mess around all the time and I got caught riding down from the stockroom on the conveyor belt whilst eating a bag of broken biscuits.I then got a job in a hairdressers and it was the pits.Sweeping up peoples hair and cleaning out yukky washbasins. and..having to shampoo peoples dirty hair. People (well older people ) didn't use to wash their hair so often in those days.I used to get the grand sum of thirteen shillings and sixpence for working all day Saturday.!
