So it seems, Abbey , that you haven't been underpaid after all. Unfortunately there may be no big tax rebate to help boost your finances, so your focus now has to be on finding a full time job or a second part time job, and cutting back on spending including takeaways, nails, bottomless brunches and driving lessons for the forseeable future

Abbey, you really need to stay in a job for more than a couple of weeks.  You need to show an employer that you are willing to work and to learn.

At this rate you will still be in this situation in ten years.  You seem to leave jobs for no reason at all.  Maybe you should consider other types of work.

"What do I tell my mum if she asks why do I need money?£

Tell her you weren't always working when she thought you were and that there seems to be major issue with your tax which you need to sort out. Tell her you're pleading for help on here but now need her help to sort out your life

I didn't leave they got rid of me like I said care home reduced my hours so I couldn't live on just that if I get HB Hooe that works out or I get another full time job else where

Question Author

No I haven't ill look into it

Who got rid of you?

Was your pay paid into yor bank account?

You employer is required  to issue you with a wage slip.

Care home didn't they

Yes but never did or email

Tell her the truth - you haven't had a full-time job for ages now, you might have been paying too much tax but you didn't bother trying to sort that out, and that you haven't adjusted your spending to suit your circumstances. Yes, that will be harsh and horrible for her to hear - but you've kept so many things from her.

The care home did not get rid of you

Dare I ask what steps you've made, Abbey, in getting a doctor's appointment to discuss your dyspraxia? (Seems to have been conveniently forgotten/ignored).

Abbeylee - you are your own worst enemy I'm afraid.  You have not told your mum the truth and have given in too easily on some jobs.

Of course  it is worse for you now - but if you don't come clean it will get even worse, I promise you that.  You must tell your mum the truth; stop buying clothes; sell as many as you can; stop getting your nails done (you can do them yourself) and stop going out for meals and events you cannot afford until you are more settled financially.  Money has to be earned, not just wished for.   Good luck.

Do you not think I know it my fault I just thought as care home txt me saying they can't work around and good luck in my new job I have been so upset. I forgot to call tax office tbh.

I think maybe I lack confidence

Can the laundry not give you more hours, Abbey?  You don't seem to complain much about working there.

Abbey, I think you are just someone who doesn't like facing up to things - facts, telling your mum the truth when you know it will disappoint and upset her and so on. ABers reminded you umpteen times about your tax code...only to be asked about headbands and stuff like that. Yes, you may lack confidence - but you seem to also lack a willingness to face up to things when it becomes inevitable.

First you need to be honest with your mother ,after all she is going to want to know why you are not going to work. Then you should go to the Citizens Advice Office ,explain the tax and wages problem and ask them for advice. Cancel that driving lesson . Then you say that you have an interview so good luck for that. Then for goodness sake try to relax for a few days.

Andres- Abbey still has a job, 3 days a week (21 hours a week I think), and will be in work for the next 3 days

Abbey- are you employed by the laundry place  or through the agency?

^^^Sorry--I thought she had finished with that one . I still think telling her mother is the best thing to do.

Abbey, things would look an awful lot brighter if the interview was for a full-time position. A few months ago you were hoping to get a warehouse job. Did nothing come of that?

Question Author

They can't they said.

I know this probably irrelevant but when I first started care home supervisor had a meeting with the manager and carer about cleaning products being left out and she was very upset tbh I don't feel guilty anymore because I can't remember being in this position
