Yes it will be unmistakeable to the naked eye.
Sorry. Missed the details on this one. When is this and which way should I be looking? TIA.

Excellent, what time will it occur?
//The closest alignment will appear just a tenth of a degree apart and last for a few days. On the 21st, they will appear so close that a pinkie finger at arm’s length will easily cover both planets in the sky. The planets will be easy to see with the unaided eye by looking toward the southwest just after sunset.

From our vantage point on Earth the huge gas giants will appear very close together, but they will remain hundreds of millions of miles apart in space. And while the conjunction is happening on the same day as the winter solstice, the timing is merely a coincidence, based on the orbits of the planets and the tilt of the Earth.//
And there was me thinking they were about to collide ;-)
Too low in the sky for us just now.
I went back indoors in case our neighbours thought I was trying to see into their bedroom ...

Lol, Ich!
What are the bookie's odds on the UK being covered with cloud for the duration and so nothing is visible ?
Thanks Tiggerblue. Will be looking too.
Low close to horizon in South west if it's clear you shouldn't need a te l escope
Won't be able to see it here. Very wet and dark now and staying so all day.
Overcast here, forecast says it will remain so, :0(
If it is clear where you are it will be lower & to the right of the moon.
Thanks for the info. I'll have my telescope at the ready, with camera attached. If the sky is clear. What chance of that in manchester at this time of year, do you reckon? :o)
Have a look Clarion, better after 1900 hours.

Visible just above a stable in which a baby just been born, and surrounded by a cacophony of animal noises, and shepherds singing, '' Where's me sheeps?'' and a few Wise Men in attendance.
Or, to the West!
I thought about setting up my telescope for it (Not big just 500) but would have to be in the kitchen unfortuately a blind spot on the horizon (trees) where it will be. Its really foggy at this time as well.
Thanks ladybirder @ 12.38 but it's still persisting down here. No chance of a viewing!
So...who saw it ?
