It's Winter ..official

spent today taking down cream summer curtains and soft furnishings..up with the heavier thermal lined browns.. so that's it..officially winter..when do you declare winter and how ?

Chilly enough here! So I have the the fire on and that signals winter to me! Oh and I am wearing a woolly indoors.

Winter started on Monday for me, had to scrape frost off the car windscreen before I could go to work.

when the leaves are burned or stuffed under the bushes......not far short but feeling a little arthritis not gout, I believe....

When the leaves have turned brown and crunchy & the temperature drops. When I put on the glow of the electric fire for cosyness. When I look to changing my wallpaper for something wintry looking. When like you I cha get my curtains.

I've always worked to the Met Office definition of the seasons (even when I was a child, well before I ever realised that my thinking actually tied in with that of the meteorologists):

Winter: Dec/Jan/Feb
Spring: Mar/Apr/May
Summer: Jun/Jul/Aug
Autumn: Sep/Oct/Nov

Anyway, one look at the leaves on the trees around you (with their beautiful colours) should tell you that it's still autumn. It's not winter until the branches are bare!

True Buen, but the leaf change is the signal that Winter's on its way, and us ladies change the decor accordingly ;0)
