Hi. I am moving soon and would love to buy a property. My credit history is not good so what are my chances of getting a mortgage and how do I find out how much I could get and what repayments would be? Thanks for your time x

Firstly do you have a deposit, you are much more likely to get someone to lend to you if you have a deposit to put in your self.

You want to get a morgtage advisor, there are loads around and I think all will give advice for free. www.guild-of-mortgage-advisors.co.uk

They will find out your needs, reccomend the best kind of mortgagae and tell you all about what you will pay to whom etc etc

good luck
You're not going to get a mortage with "not good" credit rating except with the loan sharking lenders who are very expensive.

I too am a first time buyer, I checked out my own credit history on www.experian.co.uk you have to pay about 5, and it turned out I had a "fair" credit rating. Mortgage companies take alot of things into account, not just your credit rating, and I had no trouble getting a decent mortgage.

Good luck!
