I went to see my GP this morning for a steroid injection into my knee. It was a very big needle and oh boy did it hurt. It also set my teeth on edge as I felt the needle scrape on the underside of my kneecap.
I got by with several sharp intakes of breath and managed to say "Gosh, this is more painful than I thought."
When he had pulled the needle out, my GP looked thoughtfully at the tray the syringe had been on, picked up a second syringe and said "Ah, I forgot to give you the local anaesthetic first."
Do I get a sticker and a lolly for being brave?

lol, you can't beat the old ones Steve
A very large drink might be better. Hope it soon feels better .
Lol...naughty GP.

I had steroid injections when I was pregnant. The pain ran down my leg into my toes. When they came with the next injection I innocently said 'I've already had it' I didn't realise I had to have one every so many hours.

Wot you done to upset him mrs_o?
I read today that red wine is a good protection against Alzheimers and Dimentia. What more excuse do you need Mrs O? I am going to buy some protection later when I go shopping and will be imbibing this evening.

Closet alcoholics, the lot of you! hic
Mrs O, that is horrible. I would have gone potty if that was me ! A lolly you ask, well you deserve a medal for not smacking him. Or swearing out loud ! Have a gin x
Ooooouch! I think a big sticker :)

I had steroid injections on both of my shoulders yesterday. I have had them before, general ones and in both my hips which didn't hurt but had been told how painful shoulders ones could be. I could feel it but not painful though they were nice and put anaesthetic in - I could hear them chatting amongst themselves (three of them) about how you can put it in but don't have too, hoping they would opt for the putting it in!

I'm waiting on an MRI scan on my more screwed knee to see what they are going to go about that, will make sure they are anaesthetised up if they opt for steroids for that!
headline, careless gp has lolly surgically removed ...
Mrs. O hope your knee is better soon. I feel your pain. x
That's what prancing about on all those catwalks does to your knees did the gp survive?
