The insurance will still be valid, it does not stop just because you have had a claim.
If the car is still drivable ( is this the one with the split bumper?) you can just get it 'patched up' as long as it is not dangerous and keep driving.
The same thing happened to a mate of mine. His car was hit from behind while he was stationary at a junction, the insurance wrote it off and sold it back to him for £50. It was an estate car and the only damage was to the tail gate ( they still wrote it off) he went to the scrap yard and bought another tail gate for £50 and fitted it. Car was just as good as before the crash but he was £800 better off. Passed the next MOT no problem as well.
