It's May, it's the cricket season - who cares about over-paid hairdressers whose primary skill seems to be the 'penalty dive' ...
So man utd got the players free then .
far tooooo much money in footie..not a sport any longer pure business...
Arsenal are the only team to have won it without spending big money. Man utd bossed the transfer market throughout the nineties. Blackburn almost went bust because of their spending and chelsea needed russian billions.
I would like to point out that they have not won it yet. City have to play 2 teams that require points themselves.
No I am not a united fan and totally agree with the sentiment about buying the title and snapping up every player available to prevent the opposition getting them.
This is one of the many reasons I gave up watching football
Newcastle Utd v Man City
Man Utd v Swansea

Man City v QPR
Sunderland v Man Utd

On paper, it looks too close to call.

City will obviously be hoping to win at St James Park (yes, I know what Ashley renamed it recently) but, if by some miracle we get any sort of result against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow evening, it will be pretty much do or die for us against City in terms of a Champions League spot. Also, you can bet that Pardew will have read the riot act after our dismal performance against Wigan.

Nobody will be expecting anything other than a Utd win against Swansea nor a City win against QPR, so those two effectively cancel themselves out.

As for Sunderland v Utd, it's the lesser of two evils for a Toon fan, so come on you Reds!

weecalf what has man utd got to do with my question?
yes they have spent money and won the league im wondering who next?
>>>weecalf what has man utd got to do with my question?

You seem to be indicating that Man City have "bought" the title (if they win it) and no other club has ever bought players to win the title.

weecalf was merely indicating that the buying of Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Berbatov, Young, Smalling, Nani, Anderson, Valencia, Jones, De Gea etc etc etc has all helped win Man U the title in the past and maybe in the future.

Ferguson even has a 30 million pound player (Berbatov) playing in the reserves most of the season for some reason ( I assume they have had a falling out - maybe Ferguson wanted him to go and Berbatov refused to leave).
Toure and Boliteli not only have wonderful skills but also seem to have the muscle bulk to flatten any opponent in their path. The manager with worldwide skills are the only ones to notice these skills and British managers seem so closeted.
Argubly Man Utd did get their best players free
Arguably they don't...
I was refering to Giggs Scholes Beckham the two Nevilles Butt
If it can be argued that something is the case, it can also be argued that the same thing isn't the case.
Unarguably Man Utd got their best players free ;-))
I would feel very sorry for Newcastle if playing so well all season they keep the 4th spot and Chelse win the Champions league so they lose out on CL football despite earning it.

Ideally Arsenal would be in 4th then I wouldn't mind at all
Just watch out for the Swansea score.

Remember I told you.
> and Chelsea win the Champions league

You mean the FA Cup, rowan...
No Mark, he means Champions League.

If they win that, fourth spot doesn't get a CL spot.
My mistake. Apologies, rowan.
Hi MarkRae. I thought Rowanwitch was right- I understood that if Chelsea were to win the Champions League they would qualify for next season's Champions League at the expense of the team finishing fourth in the Premier League
