if you havn't resided in uk since 2001 and not worked there either do you have to fill in a ax return. i visit uk in total six weeks a year these six weeks are split and not continues. the ir are asking for tax returns

Did you inform HMRC of your leaving the UK? If you still needed to complete tax returns after you left they should have let you know at that time.

Yes you have to complete them, or at least one - even if only to inform them you are not resident and have no uk income
It may be in yoiur interest if you have worled during your times here. You will be likely to receive a tax rebate.

Any late penalties will be quoshed if there is no tax liability so get them in.
