If Im claiming jobseekers allowance and I do a weeks work for an employment agency, what is the longest I can leave it before I have to inform the department of works and pensions?

I think you have to tell them immediately or it could be seen as fraud
When you sign on every fortnight you have to make a declaration of work done so you have seven days at most to report it.
As you have made yourself, albeit temporarily, unavailable for work - there will be a doubt about your claim.

This means that if you are honest, and tell them, they may suspend your claim whilst they investigate the circumstances.

My advice would be not to tell them. Also think twice before repeating this.
