I cannot delete a file.

I want to delete a certain file. When I try to do so I get a messege on the screen saying that the file is no longer located at XXXXXX verify the location and try again. Its just an endless circle....

To get rid of soot on the back of the fire, where the fake bricks are, i vacuumed it with a brush attachment. However this has made it look white. How can i restore it to looking black again
