Hello all,

I for one am glad to see the lighter nights and mornings, makes me feel that summer is coming! Who is up for an Easter egg hunt? Of course, you can use chocolate eggs or bags of sweets, but how about those little party favours instead to save the teeth and waistlines?

For those of you without kids just enjoy the long weeknd and maybe let yourselves have a little treat.

And by the way a big WELCOME to all our new users in the last couple of months. Good Luck and well done for taking the first step.

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

If I had the weight of another person to lose I'd just try to throw them off, then run away and give them the slip !

Well done Marijm that is exactly what I did I lost my 2 stone slowly then put a stone back on now I am struggling with this stone but I am determined to get back on track after this icy cold weather and of course the chocs above lol.

Og you will get there once this horrible weather goes we are inclined to eat a little more than usual and I cant live on salads at the moment.
You will do it Jan . It just needs something to upset your life and bang goes the proper eating but we all know you will get back on track
Thanks for encouragement. I can't live on (aka can't stand) salads any time :-)

Morning all,

Just thought I'd warn you in advance I will be setting up the new thread sometime tomorrow lunchtime.

I giv eyou a heads up about 5 mins before as normal.

The Bank Holiday, although great, really messes with my scheduling :-)

Cheers
Ed
Yes, well mainly the oily ones with taste. The blander white ones tend to rely on thick greasy batter :-)

Maybe that's an idea, I'll need to look up how to bake them or something. I eat a fair amount of rice already when I want a change from potato or bread, that can add up if one isn't careful.
OG, the smoked fish like haddock and mackerel are very tasty, just wrap them in foil and place in the oven, we also poach in milk, very easy and quick.
Smoked haddock is a bit pricey but the smoked mackerel is quite cheap.
I made a big batch of vegetable chilli yesterday and it was absolutely delicious!
Sounds good Smowball. I just like the mild chilli .What veg did you put in it?
Just lately we have been having a selection of vegetable oven baked in a tiny bit of oil with some chicken or beef in a spicy sauce made from yoghurt. Bloody handsome!!
Well it was more of a mixed bean chilli really.
Onion, garlic, diced carrots, sweetcorn, tinned tomatoes, diced peppers, kidney beans, tin green lentils, and then bit of chilli powder, veg stock, tomato puree, and some cumin.
Everybody wolfed it down here.
That sounds really nice Smowball. Will have to give it a try. I love chilli.
Thanks for both recipies . I will juggle around with the chilli one.
I forgot to weigh this morning as I had a day off and wasn't in my usual routine, must try to remember in the morning and post again. But I'm not overly hopeful as I've had a birthday party and two special occasion lunches this week as well as a long journey with limited options on route. Oh my, what a struggle to find a healthy option.
Thanks for the info ed. Now to our new people....remember to click on "subscribe" when you get our new link for April. I forget to do that now and then.
Thanks Wendilla :-). Yum, I like the sound of Ratter's and Smoball's recipes!!
Good recipes, thanks to one and all.
Have a really tasty veg/potato dish which can be served with loads of things.
Boil new potatoes till almost cooked, then drain. Tip into baking tray and crush slightly with fork or potato masher until they break up slightly. Cut up red onion, red and yellow or orange peppers into big chunks and put into dish with the potatoes, and mix together. Spray everything with Fry light and cook at 180 degrees till potatoes are crispy, and the peppers etc are roasted. Absolutely delicious!!
Another tasty one to write down . Thanks Smowball. Will try a parsnip along with that as I love roast parsnip.
mmmmmmm this sounds so good smowball. Thank you
