Onwards and Downwards Continues in February 2013

Hello all,

Welcome to February, I hope that those of you who were on a strict post Christmas diet have had some great results, and relaxed just a little.

Look out just around the corner is Valentine's Day! Save the chocs and dinner out and spend the money on a spa day or movie evening with the OH instead. Any other ideas?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

I know the feeling LYnda; sometimes the harder you try the less you shift. I got "stuck " for a couple of weeks after Christmas not lossing anything much and I think its down to the weather. Our bodies holding on to it for warmth! Try a change of menu. If you're eating similar meals on a regular basis see if you can think of something different. We're trying sweet...

Many Thanks Ab Editor.
Catch up with you all on 28th (with good news I hope). Good luck all.
Thanks for looking after us so well ed....
I'm still on these sweet potatoes. Last night I made wedges. Now I don't like sweet potatoes or wedges that much with the result that I ate less but still felt full which should be a good thing...
Will try mine over the weekend as wedges or just slice them thin and do them in oven. I don't like them boiled.

You are very welcome guys :-)

Good luck this month.
I have been quite ill with my lung disease in recent weeks so have been unable to exercise at all, consequently I have gained 3lbs and am up to 9st 10lb now :(

I will be restarting my exercises this afternoon so hopefully I will lose that gain in a week or so and then be on the path to further weight loss again.
Hi Daffy sorry to here about your illness. Look froward to seeing a weight loss next week. Hope you are not trying to do do too strenuous exercises. Rather concentrate on your food intake.
Sweet potatoes are definitely on this week's shopping list, I'll let you know how we get on with them.

PS
Inspiraitonal intro Ed, thank you!
Bought a new scales yesterday as the old one just wasn't working well. Watch this space for further details on its reliability...
Mine are playing up again. Gave up after about eight attempts today. Occasionally 2 readings on the trot were the same, but then it changed again :-( I think I want one of those big ones they get in clinics with the sliding weights, but couldn't afford one and would have nowhere to put it anyway.
The one that the OH bought is very cheap so I have reservations....
Ive lost just under 1lb this week. I know it's better than one on, but I've been über strict this week and certainly feel as though I've lost more than that. Never mind, still another two weigh ins before my holiday!

Try a change of menu. If you're eating similar meals on a regular basis see if you can think of something different. We're trying sweet potatoes roasted as wedges this weekend after a conversation on here during the week.

I switch between soup for lunch, salad with ryvitas, or humous and crudites but I'll look for some new ideas next week as I think it gets the weight losing again if you have a change.
Good idea maidup..............
I'll definitely be having a change of menu once Im on holiday. My favourite restaurant serves the most delicious crisp roast belly pork mmmmmmmmm
Good Morning All, Today is my first weigh in on the new scales so I am not saying if I am up or down as all scales give a slight variation to the ones you are used to.

I hope that you will be checking in with good results today.....
Up then was it ? :-D

Down 3¼ lbs this week. Was 'touch & go' some days though.
Well done OG thats a good loss. I am not very happy but I am blaming this miserable weather, One good thing I have not gained still stayed the same .
