Onwards and Downwards Continues in February 2013

Hello all,

Welcome to February, I hope that those of you who were on a strict post Christmas diet have had some great results, and relaxed just a little.

Look out just around the corner is Valentine's Day! Save the chocs and dinner out and spend the money on a spa day or movie evening with the OH instead. Any other ideas?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

I know the feeling LYnda; sometimes the harder you try the less you shift. I got "stuck " for a couple of weeks after Christmas not lossing anything much and I think its down to the weather. Our bodies holding on to it for warmth! Try a change of menu. If you're eating similar meals on a regular basis see if you can think of something different. We're trying sweet...

Ha ha OG, no it wasn't up it was just the same as it was at home before we came down here......so there!!! :-) It should have been more because of a very sinful chinese meal we had the other day.
Im not quite as good as OG, ive lost just over 3lb, a little surprised as I was a little bit naughty with my Sunday roast dinner and a couple of other sizeable meals ive had but I have been very good for the most of the week, im still eating lots of fish and loving it.
Well done Ratter. I found that when I was losing steadily and being really good by having a roast dinner on Sunday never used to make any difference. I just can't get started on this stone .Just lost 1 lb since Xmas but as I said I am blaming this miserable weather. But keeping off the junk food.
3 lb is good ratter. I would be over the moon with that loss. Like you I feel that I should be more after some very foolish eating, but then again they are new scales, still clothes would tell and they feel the same.
:-)
Not been that good. Really missed the targets over the weekend, but I wasn't home then so had less control. Scales just being kind I think, I anticipate finding the next 7 days more difficult as it corrects itself.
Hello all. Well done Ratter and OG!! I have lost another pound. . . . . Hoo-blooming-ray! I have a pound and a half to go to my goal weight. I've been on this Onwards Downwards thread for well over a year now and I've lost ten pounds in total, so you can see what a slow loser I am. I think it averages out at half a pound loss a month. I've been really enjoying the sweet potatoes; thanks again for the info about them and reminding me how lovely they are.
I lost 13.5lbs in January and hope to do the same inf February.
Wow!!! Well done
well done helen, how did you do it? I've just got back to my pre-Christmas weight.
You are certainly doing it the right way notafish. I hope you don't desert us when you have reached your goal. It would be like loosing a friend.
Aah, thanks very much Xstitcher:-) I just checked back to see when I started on your thread, and it was over two years ago, so I've been slower than I thought. But never mind. It's nice coming on here to see how everyone's doing, and getting the good tips. It's really lovely that you and Wendilla always say supportive things to everyone. I find it very hard to stick at goal weight so I will keep popping in, even after I've reached it.

Notafish well done and thank you for the kind words. I know you have been with us quite awhile time flys. Xstitcher started this and I replied more than 2 years ago.I must do a check and find out.
Friedgreentomato that is quite a loss for a month be careful as the quicker you take it off the faster it can come back when you stop . I don't know how much weight you have to lose but if you have a lot to lose that loss is ok for a few weeks then you will slow down.
Box tops you are going the right way. I am stuck at the moment but no gain . I blame this miserable weather.

We certainly seem to help each other here and for me personally it keeps me on the straight and narrow most of the time. Apart from wanting to loose weight I don't want to let the side down here.
I like finishing every meal with a piece of fruit and have just re discovered kiwi fruit http://natural-digestion-source.com/benefits-of-eating-kiwi-fruit/

I'm sure that after reading this I won't be alone enjoying this fruit....
Thank you Wendilla. Here is a link to the first ever thread. . .

I love kiwi fruit so will be giving them a go :-)
Notafish thank you so much for that I have not had time to look for it. So it will be 3 years in August since we started. In that time I have lost 2 stone and want this last one off but it is taking longer.
Well done everyone who's lost weight this week.

I've stayed the same and I'm blaming it on the weather too! I seem to need a bit more fuel to keep warm at the moment. Plus its easy to stay in the warm rather than to get out and exercise. Oh well, at least I've maintained and can get going again this month hopefully.
Interesting notafish. Unfortunately the links at the end get broken part way down the chain. It looks like my first post may have been July 2011 (although it doesn't read like a first post if I'm honest). If it was, then I've lost 2 st 7½ lbs in 574 days, or less than an ounce a day !
That's a faster rate than mine then OG. :-)
