Onwards and Downwards Continues in April

Sorry we are a bit late this month busy, busy, busy!

I have noticed quite a few new members over the last couple of months so welcome to you all and we are glad to have you here to help and be helped:

JimJools, maggibee, notafish, daffy654, lillymoon, jules001, spotit3 and maidup

if I have missed anyone I apologise.

As the days are getting longer and warmer does anyone find it a bit easier to be good and eat more fruit and veg and not pile up on the stodgy food that is so tempting in the winter months?

Oh dear, I've been to a birthday meal today and the dessert was to die for! It simply wasn't possible to refuse it as we were guests at someone's home - I'll just have to eat nothing but salad and fruit now until Wednesday ;-)
I know the feeling well Maidup. The one thing is you can look on the bright side as you know how to rectify it. I have a bit of rectifying to do after last week. 2 lbs on not good at all.
I think the best thing is to say nothing and just take a small piece....easy for me to say when I don't really fancy desserts, but that could apply to anything really.
You don't fancy anything ?
You wanna believe it......I love cheese, nuts, potatoes, meat , gravy, etc etc etc jelly beans, but not desserts.
Just been looking back. Bit of a downer to find I've not really shifted weight over the whole of the last month. Down a bit, up a bit, unchanged a bit, and so on. Been threatening to break though to the next stone all that time, and it's just teasing me.
Good news for me as I'm 3lbs down this morning. Other than the creamy meringue dessert I ate on Sunday (!), I have had a pretty good week staying off the sweet things and cutting out bread and cheese which were my all time weaknesses. Low fat and good carbs have aided my success.

That's a total of 10.5lbs for me since the beginnning of March and I'm delighted. Still a long way to go but Onwards and Downwards. Good luck to you all today.
Well done Maidup. That is a good lose. Well we finally got the batteries and I have remained the same which I don't deserve. (Could be the difference in scales) I can't stress enough how important your weekly weigh in is. Without it you are loosing control and on the slippery slope and/or worrying about how much you are sure that you have put on which isn't always true. I deserve to have put on but am very pleased to not be.
Hope the rest of you do well and if not, don't worry we will help you get to your goal as much as we can.
How right you are xstitcher, about the weekly weigh in. I had a creamy dessert at the weekend and one or two other minor indulgencies this week. If I hadn't weighed today I would't have known that I'd overcome that with better days and I might have given up.

Good Morning both and well done Maidup. Like you Xstitcher I have stayed the same. But really need a loss for next weeks weigh in.
Yes it is very important to not miss a weigh in week as that is when the trouble starts well do I know it .

I, apparently, am up 2 lbs. I thought I was being good most days but looking back over the week as a whole I see I was about 15% over target input. And very varied from day to day, some days I was 16% under. Thought I had stalled, but it seems I'm on the rise (and I didn't even enjoy a banquette that needed to be compensated for). Ho hum .....

(And to make things more fraught, the 2 slices of toast with crab spread breakfast means today is already on the high side.)
Not lost anything this week but not disheartened as at least I have not put any on. Grandson made some peanut butter cookies so I had to try a couple but the rest are going home with him as they are too tempting. Really must try and up the exercise but not easy when you've been a couch potato most of your life. Think I will ask one of the neighbours if I can borrow their dog and start taking it for walks.
I only lost 1/2 lb this week which was a bit disappointing. That is half of the pound I put on the week before after drinking too many Caipirinhas. So I`m back where I was two weeks ago. Never mind. In theory that means that if I don`t drink 6 Caipirinhas this week I should lose 1lb but I don`t think it works like that!

Bakers Dozen that is my problem when my grandson is here. He likes bacon rolls for lunch and guess who has one too.
237 that is how I go for a few weeks then I lose again.Onwards and Downwards for next week.
Well done Maidup and all the losers or those who have stayed the same. I am really pleased as lost 5lb this week! Not sure how as I have been out twice and had a few drinkies but apart from that I suppose I have been good food wise this week. Now lost 4st 12lb so getting there slowly but surely. Good luck to us all with the willpower for the following week.

I think you have got the weight that should be on me OG......better results next week. I was going to say better luck....but luck has nothing to do with it, has it.
Fantastic news from everyone. Well done to all who lost. Including me.Lost 2lb. Ive worked hard at keeping off the sweet things this week. Yes Ive missed them, sometimes ,but when you can see a loss its all been worth it.

Yes, maidup, thanks. You are doing amazingly well. Congrats. Keep it up. Ive lost 2 and half stone in total since Oct 2010. I know I should have lost more by now but its coming off slowly and I feel so much better.
