Why is it that people see being single as the lull between relationships? Is there anyone out there who is genuinely content being single, and honestly isn't looking to pair up?

I have never looked to pair up. It just seems to happen. Maybe because I never look for it..
I'm with someone now, but I was single for 12 years between marriages, and I was very happy being so. Not looking for someone is a great way to meet someone!

well I hate being single. I don't "need" a man, but sometimes I would quite like one!

thanks Ken (I'm wondering who you are!), but it's not proving to be that easy :o/
I have never looked to pair up, I've just been unlucky!

I've been happily single for about 12 years now, but I think being financially independent also helps.
