Say again that I've been right about face masks all along, but, I thought I would, it seems Boris has also come round to my way of thinking after 6 months of telling us, and his mate Hancock, that they don't make any difference. Regarding the argument, face coverings or masks, it also seems that Boris calls them masks, has if it really mattered either way. :0)))
There's nothing in the government's new stance that goes against their original statements. (i.e. that masks are pointless when people are keeping two metres apart). It's only now that people are coming closer together that masks might have some value.
It was not as straight forward as you make it.
There has always been a controversy amongst scientists as to the efficacy of mask.
The argument being that the virus part les are so small that they would pass through the conventional mask
In my mind that doubt still exists.
Let's face it - most/all homemade face coverings are likely to be useless at preventing transmission for both the wearer and other people. See response from Squad above.
masks have no actual effect but appeal to the general human desire to believe in something. It's why religion is popular, no sense no logic, it's just something that people inexplicably find comforting.
