Well if she hasnt been taking anti inflammatories and has been walking on it then yes....it might still be painful after 9 days.

Is she walking well?
Which part of the foot is the most painful part?.
How old is your daughter?
I have taken knocks in football (deep bruising/swollen ankle etc) and have struggled to put weight on my ankle for several days (is she walking on it ok?) Strange that no bruising has come out, but not unheard of. I would wait and see what response you get off people here, but consider A+E if this continues in to next week.
It wouldn't hurt to get someone in the know to look at it. After 9 days you'd think it would be getting better. A numb toe can mean impingement, or a bit of nerve damage. I'd go in, just to get a professional opinion.
Get proper medical advice.
I fell over my cat (sober -he was needing fed) and staved my hand/wrist and stubbed (broke im sure) my little toe and injured the side of my foot and it took 6wks before I could say it felt better.I didnt go to the Doc as my toe wasnt misshapen although the joint was swollen for weeks and it was difficult to weight bear.Think the key is to try not to weight bear and take Ibuprfofen but as always see your GP if you're very concerned.
I wouldnt wait - her bones are growing every day and if there is a hairline or compression fracture you are risking further complications.

A and E should be over the Saturday night drunks and druggies by now.......but certainly a visit to the quack tomorrow. Meanwhile, it shoudl be foot up and minimal pressure on it i.e. called rest and ibuprofen - actually an aspirin product may be better if it is bruising......which I doubt......more like a bone/tendon damage....Sqad will advise on aspirin if he is around.......
On reflection, DT's words might be wise - just to be safe, I am going off my own experience, I assuming daughter is still fairly young?
if she is under 16 she SHOULD NOT take aspirin under any circumstances.
Do you have a minor injuries unit near where you live
I agree DT -I was talking from my experience as an 'adult' who can I would hope judge when it was necessary to see a GP...when youre responsible for someone else well being then I dont think it would harm to nip into A & E.
If there is numbness then I'd get it checked out, if your A&E is anything like mine it has a separate minor injuries unit which deal with things like this rather than going to actual casualty itself.

I tripped and hurt my ankle on New Years Eve. It went very swollen and painful though I had very bad bruising with it. A little of the bruising is still there now and over the joint itself (inner ankle) is still painful. I have arthritis though so I seem to injure worse anyway.

I've been putting it off getting mine checked out as figured it would just heal and din't want to take up their time at the hospital but am wondering if I cracked something a bit or similar with it still being a bit bruised and hurting.

Many thanks to all of you. I should have said my daughter isnt a child infact she was 36 today haha she went to the doctor and was given ibuprifen gel to put on it. but doesnt seem to be helping. Yes she is putting weight on it but not fully. the numb toe has only started today. The ankle bone is swollen mostly and she said the top of her foot hurts as well.
Glad she got it seen to. Did they check out the numb toe as well? Can she actually feel anything (eg a pin prick) or just it just feel numb if that makes sense?

The top of my foot hurt too. Managed to irritate it again the other night tripping in a pot hole running for a bus...I shouldn't be allowed out :)
