Fat fingers

Earlier today I noticed that my rings were quite loose but now I have had trouble taking one of them off - why have my fingers suddenly become fatter?

Water retention? It happens to me occasionally and it used to happen quite extremely to mr mac when he was on dialysis. Before a session his ring would be cutting in to him then afterwards it would fall off.

we retain more fluid later in the evening. bet they are looser in am.

It's quite odd - I haven't drunk any more or less today and it has happened since sometime this afternoon.

Hi cas - I have actually been worried that I have become too scrawny (I was poorly in September and lost weight and I havent put it back on). Just tried and can't get the ring over the joint in my finger (don't know the proper name for it).

Maybe you were hot, I always find if I put shoes on when my feet are cold they're looser than if my feet are warm?

My fingers swell ,but it's arthritic and can't get rings on because of knobbly finger joints .I would say water retention .Do you bite your nails ?

Just a thought really :) You can get an infection from nail biting .Hope it soon goes down .Keep an eye and go to the doctor if you are worried or it becomes inflamed .

I've had it before when I suddenly can't bend my fingers properly because they have become so fat - they looked like half a pound of sausages.
