Just popping in to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I just want to thank everyone who has listened to me and given advice this year on CB, regarding my Mum who has dementia. Its been a difficult and upsetting time, and even though I am quite a private person, I have been so desperate and upset, I have poured my woes out on here, then when I have pulled myself together, can't believe what a cry baby I have been.

In the last month I have moved my Mum to a new Care Home, which is lovely - I was suspicious she was being physically abused where she was before and recent evidence has proven this. I have been going through hell with the stress of this, and 3 Abers on here I talk to on the phone and email, have been a life saver to me. They know who they are and even though I am not a slushy, kissy kissy person, I will always be so grateful to them for being on the end of the phone.

Hiya den - I'm on my way to see my mother as I write. Glad it's sorted - you deserve a break and a bit of peace in your life xx Happy new year btw
Den the year you have had (and more) you and Mum deserve a happier start to the next one.♥

May I add that if you need to open your heart, this is no bad place to do it, as I know from experience. So thanks from me too.
Happy New Year and I sympathise with you as to your mother. Mine is on the slippery slope downwards and we have got to the phase of lashing out and accusing folk (me) of stealing her jewellery as well as losing everything - I found £130 in an old pill box two weeks ago, she has just lost a cheque for £1500 and was walking around this morning with a cancelled cheque for £450, wanting to deposit it; this went missing and I had it replaced.

I am keeping a diary and am thinking of writing a book on the experiences to help folk with advice, perhaps with a medic for their angles, and also to bring out aspects of humour etc - some research needed to see if there is a market gap for such a tome.....

Any advice from you/ABers welcome!!!!!

Happy New Year.....
Happy new year. x
happy new year den, x
Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time with you mum re. the care home, how terrible! It's hard enough watching your love one change in front of your eyes nevermind having to worry about the care they are receiving. I'm so glad she is in a much better place and getting the care she deserves and I'm glad you've been able to find support on here.

All the best for 2011 to you and your family Den xxx

Peri - hope you find your Mum well. xx

Mamy - I agree, there are good people on CB. I like to come on here for a bit of humour and many times have been laughing through tears. Take Care xx

DT crosswardfa - I could give you a couple of chapters for your book - and it would not all be doom and gloom, I also have some funny moments. xx

Thanks NoMercy xx Happy New Year

Happy New Year, Fluffy. xx

Wingnut - She is in a beautiful Home now. I will never come to terms with having to put her into Care, but my Dad who is 81 also, just could'nt cope anymore with her, I have had to make some tough decisions this year (more than I have ever revealed on CB). Den xx Happy New Year
I'm sure I will den - well and giving out but onwards and upwards - what you doing tonight?
Hi Den, glad to hear it has all worked out well for you.

Hello Den, Just come back from the chemists, I think I keep 'em ticking over. got armfull's of stuff, Antibiotics, tissues, linctus,lem-sip, paracetamol. Over Christmas my S in L gave us the biggest prezzy 'kin' Flu. We're both full of it H is worse than me (of course) hacking cough & streaming nose & eyes.(but I'm very well for the state that I'm in) cough - cough.

You know Den I'm soo pleased for you and your mum about her being more settled. I can still see her kind face in my mind. Your 2011 I'm sure is going to be a helluva lot
better than 2010.You deserve it mate. You have given so much its time now to grab something for yourself.

Hope Glen is feeling better (did he have one over the eight?) those were the days. (sigh)

Kissy-kissy. - Jem
