Do you think swapping cereals for something healthier if I know i'm not going to be doing much exercise that morning will help me to lose a bit of weight?
If you think about it cereals are mainly carbs and sugar which aren't very good for setting you up for the day unless you're about to do a lot of exercise, which I don't always do.
Now it's getting cold, would fruit and custard (made with skimmed milk and splenda) be a healthier substitute for when I don't need as many carbs? It's got calcium and fibre in it and it's nice and warm for cold winter days.
porridge with fruit is a really good start to the day - oats are low cal and good for your cholesterol levels. The instant packet porridge is quick and easy, and you can pick one which doesn't have such high sugar levels. Bread - particularly toast and a low fat spread - is also recommended for a healthy breakfast.
Custard would not keep you going for long-you'll get way more goodness and slow release energy from porridge....and little if any fat if you use skimmed milk.
