A woman has lodged a grievance against a male co worker for him saying "Have you all over tan?" because she had just came back from her holiday!!!!
Is this bloody country going mad or what?
What's wrong with that?.... why the hell couldn't she be flippant and say something like
"Thats for me to know"
I am fed up with this sort of thing happening, this guy may lose his job!

The world has gone mad
Bonkers
i suppose it depends how he said it and whether he is often saying similar things to her.
If its just a one off i cant see that he would lose his job.

mrs o, you are right, when they decided to tell us what we can say and what we can't, it opened the floodgates for this kind of thing!
I agree bobbisox - she could have said worse than that back to him if bothered her that much. of course some people could take it all too far but that does not sound like it! of course someone who has suffered from $exual harrassment will say otherwise!
Ay up - molly's about
Question Author
if it was blatant sexist remarks aimed at her all of the time...then, yes redcrx, she would have to report him, it didn't say it was this, just a passing remark as I heard it...maybe it will unfold, but if it was a passing remark.?
one of my colleagues complained when someone said, "you look nice, who are you dressing up for?"

it was a joke.. he's a joker. I mean wow, if she'd heard some of the things he says to me, lol!

I have had the all over tan comments just recently, has this women no soh for heavens sake
I've lost count of the number of co-workers who asked to see my white bits since i came back off holiday. I take it as friendly banter. This PC stuff has got out of hand IMO accepting that some are going to say comments like this are offensive.
These aren't people on the factory floor

These are two politicians doing anything they can to stick the knives into each other

Thanks Sara x

I wonder how many more replies she'll get lol
Question Author
ha-ha, Sara I might be;-0)p
As someone who has spent nearly all my working life working in an all male environment, I get really hacked off with these females who cannot cope with a bit of banter.
If she'd heard some of the stuff that's been thrown at me over the years.......but I always gave as good as I got.
it's called real life.
If it was a one-off...couldn't she have just told him off there and then...why go so far. That just belittles the really SERIOUS instances of bad behaviour.
Same here Mrs O! Nowt wrong with banter. What gets me is that a male colleague and I can be mucking about and someone walking past can complain!! grrrr
