Hi Out there...feeling a bit down. Today was my weekly weigh in and have again put on 1 lb. making it a total of 6 pounds in a couple of months. I have doing Rosemary Connely since last Sept and managed to loose 10 kilos.
My doctor had given me pills to help keep my hunger down ( I didn't think they did) but now they have been taken off the market. (can't remember their name)

I am eating the same and exercising every day (am 70 yrs old) so I just wanted some support really. I shall keep on of course but it is so annoying to see numbers going the wrong way.

Don't buy what you should not eat so that you can't snack when your will power is down and don't treat yourself with food for losing weight. The odd little treat does add up. stop eating potatoes, biscuits, sweets of any kind and cakes. Don't eat after 7 in the evening.
Jomifl and HI it may not be that easy for families that have children. What I mean by having the odd treat is not sweets and cream cakes. I have found it works for me but what works with one person does not work for another.

Hi Wendilla,
You always come with the right answer to our people. I wonder if you have been a diplomat when you were working.

You have certainly fielded off very nicely some people that think that over 40 is over life. I wonder why there are some people thinking that our age is the end of the line. I didn't think like that when I was young with my grandparents....did you?

Well I was up before 7 am today and it is still dark here then but cool so I could do my easy exercises. Believe me they do help to keep my "bad back" not being bad.

How have your treats been this weekend?
Hi XSTITCHER I used to be in nursing so perhaps I am used to just saying what I think lol.and what is best for me but as I said it don't work for everyone. I can remember when my mother was 50 she was old and looked old not only her most people that age.It just shows how things have changed as some people don't even look their age apart from those that use surgery.I have been really good this week only had a choc kit-kat .Weather dull here and changing now to cooler but bet it's nice where you are.I just do light exercise like standing behind chair and imagine I have a hoolaloop never could master it when I was younger lol.and never did like exercises.
Onwards and Downwards
My friend who is 72 is on a diet and is doing very well. She has a bad back but has taken up LFA Tai Chi which she loves.
lots of walking planned for week end Redman will be exhausted again...we walked miles last time I went to wales and more sightseeing planned...just the nicest exercise...well maybe second nicest... this is all stalling as I have been eating lots of naughty but nice things over the last couple of days...back on track from tomorrow well this evening really..
xstitcher, I often remember the time my mother told me that when she reached 40, she thought it was the end of the world. It was around 1950, and she felt that after forty, she had to sit in the corner in a twinset and pearls. She never did btw, she led an amazing if someone difficult life for herself, but she never did wear the twinset and pearls, and lived to 93!
I have a friend who is a bit cagey about her age, and she's not old at all!, - but her mother had an absolute "thing" about her age, it wasn't even on her funeral sheet! I don't particularly mind about admitting how old I am, because I live with my OH, who's quite a bit older than me, who is 73 years old (young!) and neither looks it or acts it - it's just dependant on peoples' mindsets - when I was a delivery driver I delivered to quite a few elder people and you'd be amazed how many really old 60 - 70 year olds there were out there, but also how many really young people in their 80's and 90's - one 93 year old man still ran his own businesses, 3 very sucessful shops and did his own bookwork as well. and went out with girlfriends who were quite a lot younger! I also think that 50's are definitely the new 40's! How's the diets going? I weighed this am, and I'm 1lb down from saturday am, so feel quite happy tonight - so onwards and downwards we go!!
You are all amazing - I have found the incentive to get off my bum and do something constructive instead of ... well whatever it was I was doing before !! from reading all your posts and it does go back to what I said to xstitcher, you do need support !!

I have yet to weigh myself and have no idea what my weight was [ typical head in sand, if you don't know, you can't worry attitttude ] however I KNOW I have lost weight [ things are looser ] and BEST of all, my energy level has shot up from barely visible to something my husband has been able to see and better still, comment on !!
boom boom !!!

thank you ladies, and onwards and downwards .......skz

Hello All, I am so glad we are helping seekeerz. How right you are about the energy level. Well it makes sense though doesn't it. The more weight we loose the less work our bodies are doing having to move it from A to B. For me it just makes everything so much easier. Yesterday I got rid of a wheely bin of old clothes that no longer fit, some too small and most too big now. The too small ones are from some 20 odd years ago so they don't count says me.
Weigh in tomorrow so I hope we are going to hear from some happy people and if it doesn't go the right way just dig in and get going for next week. Onwards and downwards !!
Morning Xstitcher and all.Talking about clothes I put one of those longer length skirts on that I had not worn for 3 months. It is now nearly down to my ankles and as it was just a pull on it was up under my arm pits nearly so I am not going to keep it .That has gone.If you keep these larger size clothes when you lose weight and you start to put it back on again you say Well it won't matter as I still kept my larger size ones. But not this time they are going going and gone.Onwards and Downwards.See you all tomorrow and hope you done well.
morning XSTITCHER and all. Well it's another 1lb for me so that makes it now another 9 lbs to lose before end of October and that will be a total of 2 stone. I thought it might have been 2 lbs this week but looking back at my menus I have had extra potato wedges this week and not so much fish so I am off to Adsa today with my list and aiming for 2lbs for next week Hope you have all done well

Well done Wendilla, Life is good for you and I am so pleased.
As I said before this week doesn't really count for me as it is another set of scales so from next week I will be able to start with a better view of what is going on.
I have started power swimming in the mornings....oh boy, I used to be able to do 50 lengths, now I am exhausted after 6. Oh well, onwards and downwards.
Not too far downwards if you are swimming xstitcher! I haven't lost any this week, apart from the 1lb earlier in the week, but I had hoped to have lost more in the last few days. I've managed to avoid the sweets and biscuits aisle in Tesco, although my trolley tried to drag me down there. Oh well, less food and more exercise this week!
good luck everyone, hope the weight keeps dropping off!
Oh dear where is everyone have you all forgot. Tell us even though you have gained as you will do your best to rectify it for next week.Just got back from asda and bought all I had on my list so Onward and Downward for next week.
BID767 you will lose it for next week hopefully..I have my stay the same weeks even though I have been good.

Yes where is everyone? Do you find yourself checking out the shopping carts in front of you and tish tishing in your mind when you see crisps etc in them. What a hoot.
Hello, I've lost four pounds this week. My goal weight is now eight pounds away. I know it won't happen as quickly now. I was premenstrual when I first weighed myself (before I started the "diet"), so I know the four pounds I lost are more down to nature, than hard work.
10stone 8lbs thats another 2 gone :-)
Running late and nothing to report - but not to worry, as yet I do not have my scales but sticking to the eating plan and will weigh as soon as I am able. Energy level has stayed the same which is wonderful and my oh does the shopping [ he loves it, has all these dear little ladies to chat to ] so no problems resisting the odd indulgent buy, makes it that much easier for me.

Well done to all the losers this week, promise I'll be on deck for next Wed. Onwards and downwards !!

Hello all you lovlies, Yesterday we had lunch at a Chinese buffet place where you take your raw food up for either a barbeque or stir fry. They had the most lovely plain cabbage salad. It was a little yellow in colour (dry mustard?) with a light sweet and sour flavour, but didn't seem to have any oil. I am trying to make it now so any ideas are welcome. I use sugar substitute which I find just as good, not having a sweet tooth, but it is hard to mix with liquid.
