Hi Out there...feeling a bit down. Today was my weekly weigh in and have again put on 1 lb. making it a total of 6 pounds in a couple of months. I have doing Rosemary Connely since last Sept and managed to loose 10 kilos.
My doctor had given me pills to help keep my hunger down ( I didn't think they did) but now they have been taken off the market. (can't remember their name)

I am eating the same and exercising every day (am 70 yrs old) so I just wanted some support really. I shall keep on of course but it is so annoying to see numbers going the wrong way.

Move over Yinyang, I have just come home from a sinful girls brunch and I don't think the scales will make me happy tomorrow either. We will just have to be happy on the others behalf and hope for better results next week. Like you I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow, but it just ain't gonna happen, as they say.

Welcome onboard notafish. The more the merrier. I hope belonging to our group will help you get to your goal. We will all do our best to help you. Onwards and downwards is our motto. We have no name.
\Hi x stitcher I am holding my breath.Welcome from me too Notafish.
Thank you for the welcome.Does anyone have any more good weight lose tips? I like all the ideas so far. I saw a programme on TV, a couple of months ago, that said soup keeps you fuller for longer. And an egg for breakfast sustains you longer than cereal.
Hi xstitcher,

Do you think it will help if we stand on one leg when we get on the scales? : )

I really hope others have done well this week and give me a swift kick up the behind to get me going again.
Sorry, meant to say welcome to notafish. Soup is a good filler upper. I make one with loads of different veg and have a small bowl at lunchtime and another about half 3 / 4 pm. Stops me reaching for mid afternoon munchies.

See you all for the weigh in tomorrow girls.
Thank you yinyang.

Good Morning and I mean good.....despite my 3 lunches out since last Wed. I have GONE DOWN 300 grams. Now I know that is not very much but it is down and also is the first time the scales have moved since I started this thread. I am grinning from ear to ear.
Onwards and downwards ladies.....I say ladies because I think from the tone of all the answers we all belong to the fairer sex. Am looking forward to hearing from you today and hoping there will be lots of smiles. If however there isn't reason to smile, don't give up. We'll help you through the rough bits.
Morning XSTITCHER and all to follow congrats to you and I too have been out for 2 lunches and still lost 1lb. I was so sure I would have gained but I didn't go over the top with my lunches. They say in trying to lose weight that if you don't eat enough you won't lose like if you live on salads when you go back to normal food you will put it back on quicker. Hope you understand what I mean.So I am off to town today walking with a lighter step.
Onwards and Downwards girls.
Good morning xstitcher and wendilla - well done, you ladies! Having not weighed last week, and knowing that I indulged in bacon sandwiches over the bank holiday, I am glad to report a sort of victory. I signed on at the beginning at a start weight and I have got back down to it - so I've lost the 3 lbs I put on over the last fortnight. More by luck than judgement I feel, but I am back to the start weight. Rah! Onwards and downwards!
Hi boxtops well done.Talking about bacon I had some in freezer for my grandson as he loves bacon sarnies. He was here Monday and I took out his to defrost and forgot to put back in freezer put container in fridge instead.I was tempted this morning but didn't.Guess I will have to bin it just a few slices.

Hi Again Everyone, Talking about bacon...here in Denmark we can buy turkey bacon which tastes like real bacon. I fry two rashers every Sat to have a BLT sandwich which is pure heaven and no guilt. I don't know if you can get it in the UK. I also use chicken sausages which to me don't taste far from the real hot dog type sausages but again a much lower fat content.
Question Author
Aha........I just "asked Jeeves" and you can buy Mattesson's Turkey Rashers in ASDA for £1.83....much cheaper than what I must pay here. I really recommend a try out.
Good morning girls and well done to you all; some great results this week.

I think Rowanwitch must have cast a lucky spell over us all because; despite my atrocious weekend; I have still managed to lose just over 1LB!! I've been doing a lot of work in the garden and house over the last few days - hedge cutting and bagging leaves, stripping wallpaper and stuff so that must have helped burn off some of my sins. Shows you that exercise comes in many forms.

We should all be proud of ourselves this week : )

I'm a big fan of turkey rashers. You can use them whenever you would normally use bacon - I even use them when making my low fat carbonara sauce.
Well done everyone. I won't weigh myself til next Wednesday as I've only just started.
Question Author
Ofcourse rowanwitch has cast a lucky spell over us, why didn't I think of that.....keep them coming rowan.
Why don't you weight yourself anyway notafish. Then you will have something to compare next week's weigh in with.....you don't have to tell us.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has discovered turkey rashers.
No ladies all your own work.....but happy to keep a little casting in reserve for when times get harder... lost a pound this week too despite eating curry, lasagne, and all sorts of other nice things while away with Redman...it must have been all the exercise.....................................
.............................................

.............................................
........we
walked miles....I know what you were all thinking....

Okay you're right Rownanwitch but it's nice to sprinkle a bit of magic dust over our sometimes boring weight loss routines......
Went to town today and had to leave earlier as I wanted to get the shops before I picked my grandson up from school. B oy was I good . Instead of going in cafe I took a cereal bar with me and I always have fruitshoots in the car for him so I pinched one of them.Nice to hear all the losses. I don't think we have a gain .Am I right?
I guess you would have been on Reductil and as you say they've been pulled from the market.

Most people will reach a plateau when losing weight, you probably need to change your exercise a little as your body will get used to doing the same routine.

What sort of foods are you eating and when, if you don't mind me asking?
Question Author
Hi Velvetee,

Yes I think that was the name. Do you know why they were pulled? I am on Rosemary Connley's flat stomach book and adhere very stictly to it most of the time.
We are flying to Spain on Sat and shall be there for the next 3 months. I hope our computer will be working on arrival. If you don't hear from me on Wed. the reason will be a sick computer. I will also be changing scales so will get another reading. I can't remember if I am more or less in Spain so when I weigh myself I won't count next week's reading as a loss or gain.
