In year 5, which was middle school for me but still primary for most, we did an awesome reinactment of the battle of bosworth with the head and deputy as kings and class teachers commanders of battalions.
Over and above the normal stuff we made bread, butter and cheese and also paper from old newspapers. I thought it was pretty exciting at the time.
Primary school was quite boring as it was all reading, writing, and arithmetic....I don't think they do that nowadays.
I remember that we were given a book in my first year where we had to colour in shapes.

Square = yellow
Triangle = blue

And so on....
How to slide school liver (complete with tubes) into my shoulderbag without being spotted
Doing LSD.
I learnt not to sit next to smelly kevin ...... or Billy....Billy used to pull my hair. I think Kevin used to live on a never-ending diet of baked beans and sherbert dabs....phew he was whiffy!! As regards anything remotely academic, nope - I could read and write before I went to school.

Prudie and Molly, they sound exciting!
Ummm did you like that or find it a bit boring?
Lardhelmet- lol, was that meant for dinner or dissection?
Craft- all of those are still taught, just in 'fun' ways (or at least they are meant to be, some of the lessons I'm meant to be planning sound really boring!)
<<<wants to know how prudie made bread, butter and cheese from newspapers- that's some feat!
Lunch ,Sophie - lunch! Yuuukkk!
-- answer removed --
ha-ha Boo - 2 separate projects obviously and we only watched the teacher doing most of it. We all got a shake of the cream though waiting for it to become butter.

urrgh! Don't blame you then!
Stewey-- in primary school? Or were you on about school in general?
Mercia- is that all your school taught then? Can imagine that being pretty boring!
It involved the whole 100 pupils in the year group and half of the schools teachers.
"Fun ways".....right, okay........nice smile Sophie :-)
Pounds, shillings, and pence, Sophie:)

As I say, they are supposed to be fun but the lessons I'm planning at the moment seem boring even to me! Much prefer teaching reception where can do everything through play!
redhelen- I wanted to grow veggies at the school I'm at atm but not there for long so thinking will just have to grow cress and beansprouts!
prudie- I hate the idea of children just watching in cookery things, what's the point?
Question Author
Ah I see stewey! Ye olde terminology had me confused!
I loved school after I found out what went on behind the bike shed.
Sophie I see your point but it was a long time ago and our expectations weren't so high, it's certainly stuck in my memory.
Are you about to go on teaching practice?
