How do you pronounce it?
Break-fast (as I do)
or
Brekk-fust? (as most others seem to).
I get ribbed for saying break-fast - but that's what it's supposed to mean isn't it - you've had a night's sleep, now you are breaking your fast.
Makes sense, dunnit?

I pronounce it "Desayuno".

Nothing like popping down to your local cafetería for a glass of oj, a croissant and a cortado. :-)

Only joking... truth is, that's probably my first attempt at the word breakfast also. Whilst drooling at the same time.
I have to be honest, I'm the "brekk-fust" type.

Now while we're on the subject of pronunciations... may I just point out that it's "Rees-ling" and not "Rise-ling".

Absolutely - I hate that too. But what about Chablis? Is it Chab-lee or Chablee?

I am rather fond of a "petty chab-lee".

My horrid mother in law is a snob and says "brake -fest" so I say "brekkie" just to wind her up.

She sometimes comes a cropper, like the time she ordered fish in a restaurant and asked for "turbo"
