I had a Cortisone injection this morning and I can`t remember what my GP said about the after effects, (if any) and if and when I have to go back to see him. It was given into my left elbow joint to alleviate what he said may be tennis elbow. I am 75 and memory isn`t as good as it was. Can you help? TIA

When I had one some time ago, all my specialist said was to sit down with a cup of tea before I went home. He just said to rest for a while, I didn't have any after effects to worry about. I just felt a little tired. If you want to know if he said you needed to go back, try phoning the surgery and asking.

Hope you feel OK.
You'll be fine carlton .It may feel a little heavy and achey for a couple of days Depends on how good your GP is at not hitting the bone :=0)
You shouldn't have any other after affects .
I had one in my elbow years ago and it did the job .No problems .
I had one in my knee recently and it's fine .It's not a long term cure but at least it alleviates the pain for a good while. .Just ring your surgery about when you have to go back for a check on it .
Take care .

There was some other information he mentioned that I can`t remember... not when to go back, something about a type of thing to put tightly around my elbow if the injection didn`t help by about Tuesday, and it wasn`t a restrictive bandage.
