hi cardboard wt do u mean by bed spins ? :)
Question Author
When you've had a good few drinks, and you're lying in bed and it feels like the room is spinning. This goes on until you either throw up or pass out
Is it just when you're dropping off to sleep? I haven't a medical solution, but you could always try nailing the bed legs to the floor!
I know what you mean cardboard, it's a bit like when you're having anaesthetic & going into the land of nod.
I still get them (most recently on Wednesday night!). I always hope I pass out rather than throw up but it doesn't always happen.

Thats exactly it smudge. Amarillis, how old are you/how long you been drinking? Just wondering if its an age/tolerance thing
I'm 27, I've been drinking for about 12 or 13 years. How old are you? Does the age/tolerance theory work out?
Question Author
Nah, doesnt work out at all. Im 28 and been drinking about 14/15 years, but I havent had the bed spins for ages. So theres that theory out the window.
Maybe its a male/female tolerance thing? Are you a guy or a girl?
Question Author
A guy. And you?
A girl - we may have an answer here...
Question Author
Yep, could be onto something. I never honk when I drink nowadays either. Do you?
Do you mean throw up? Yeh I still do that.
Question Author

Sorry, should have realised honk isnt a well used term for being sick. So its either a boy/girl thing, or it stopped when I moved down south. But I think its more likely to be the boy/girl thing

I agree, it's probably the girl/boy thing. I've moved all over the place and it's never made any difference! Damn alcohol-intolerant girl genes!

Well, for you young 'uns - I can confirm that as you get older, the hangovers get worse.  Haven't had a spinning room for a while, but that could be because I barely make it to my room as I spend most of the night wrapped around the toilet.

Octavius don't tell me that! How old are you?

ok two best solutions to prevent the spins:

1: Eat Eat Eat chips, burger, toast. according to "scientists" a keebab really does the trick although they are a bit greasy.

2: open the window in your bedroom. I really find this works cools down the head etc.

Why doesn't it happen to you any more? tollerence i would say. oh, bit scary that.

1.  It makes you a fet person - and I don't want that!

2.  There is a danger of swyaing forward and out of the window!!

amarillis - recently I was 32,

even more recently I was 33

I think as I've got older, I've actually gotten to know my limit better.  Rather than drink until I throw and ruin a good night, I drink until I've had enough then go home.  Tolerance has probably gone up too, compared to when I was a kid, but I think I drink slower now and only treat myself to spirits if I'm far too sober at 10pm ;o)
